How To Prevent Accidents During Production?  2 Tips For Safety On Set

Health and safety should always be considered during production, regardless of the team size or shooting conditions. Let's refresh our memory and go through the basics:

Pre-Production Risk Assessment

It always starts with the planning. During pre-production, conduct a risk assessment first. In order to do so, you need to identify potential hazards and rate them by the risk they impose. Afterwards, create a plan with the safety measures you will take if needed. To take it a step further, hire a safety officer with proper qualifications who will provide a formal document and mitigate your risks.

Shooting Equipment Safety

Technology is a helpful friend, but it still requires special care. Electrical wires are one of the biggest risks on movie sets. Thus, to secure them, use rubber matting or cable crossovers. Moreover, ensure everyone wears appropriate personal protective equipment, that was checked for wear and tear in advance.

Communication On Set

Most accidents on set are indeed preventable through proper communication. Here's where can help.

We provide customised, anonymous production surveys. We are your eyes on production, mitigating your risks and providing a safe channel for reporting any potential hazard that gets overlooked or ignored.
